A Cole ancestress whose ancestry I would like is Lydia Cole. She was married in Middletown, Rutland Co., VT 10 Jan. 1801 to Increase(6) Rudd, both of Middletown. None of their children are recorded, but are listed in the History of Danby, VT. Increase and Lydia went out to Collins, Erie Co., NY where they both died; Lydia about 1857 (gravestone damaged) and Increase in 1872. According to the 1850 NY census Lydia was born about 1784 in Massachusetts. Increase was born in 1780, recorded in Middletown, VT, but since Middletown wasn't chartered until 1784, he probably was born somewhere else, maybe in one of the towns that became part of Middletown.
