Hello, I am researching RUDD connections to HOYLE and EDWARDS families in Warren and Franklin counties, North Carolina. Primary interest is in William Lee RUDD (son of William Henry) who married (27 July 1825 in Warren Co) to Hannah (nee Dodson) HOYLE, widow of Timothy Hoyle. Hannah was older than William Lee Rudd. She was born 1794 in Nottingham, England. She and Timothy emigrated to Warren Co ca 1819 and are found in the 1820 census. In the 1850 NC Census, Warren County, Sandy Creek District, we find: household #38 William RUDD, 46 Rebecca Rudd, 22 Harriett Rudd, 11 Sally A. Rudd, 1 On either side of this William Rudd household are the households of: #37 - William HOYLE, 34, (& family) #39 - John D. HOYLE, 30, (& family) William and John D. Hoyle are sons of Hannah by Timothy HOYLE. I suspect the William Rudd, 46, in household #38, is Hannah's second husband, William Lee Rudd...and that Hannah has died prior to this 1850 census. I am not sure of the relationships of Rebecca, Harriett and Sally who are enumerated with this William Rudd. I do not know if they are children by Hannah......or if perhaps they are nieces or other relations of this William. Any clues or information from anyone would be greatly appreciated!
