I have posted this several times in the past, but it has been a very long time, so here goes again. My wife's grandfather came to Michigan from Ireland sometime around 1880. He was born in Tipperary, Ireland in the 1850s, moved with his family to Dublin, and then came to the US from there. He married Elizabeth Dunleavy in the US, but we are not sure where. Didn't find a marriage document in Michigan, so it may have been the port that Elizabeth came through (either Boston or New York). He developed a hernia while farming his land grant property, and returned to Ireland with his wife and five young children for surgery. Unfortunately, he died on the operating table, leaving his widow to get herself and children back to Michigan on her own. His father was John Gordon Rudd, birth and death dates unknown. Mother was Jane Latamore, birth and death dates also unknown. He was the fourth of five children. Siblings were: Harriet, Emily, Elizabeth, and Gordon. We know that Gordon (who did not leave Ireland) married Emily Cook and had four children: Katherine, Ella, Emily, and Jerry, no dates known. We have a fairly complete list of Joshua's descendants if anyone sees a connection. Bob Berry (husband of Colleen Rudd)
