What I know so far:- (please bear in mind that I have not done much research so far) My g,g,grandfather:- Thomas Rudd age 48 (according to 1861 census born Yorkshire) living Praed St, Paddington. He was married to:- Elizabeth Addison aged 47 in 1861 Offspring:- Thomas Addison Rudd age 10 (so born approx 1851) Richard Addison Rudd age 8 (so born approx 1852 - 6 Newcastle Pl, Paddington (my g'grandad) Mary E Rudd age 6 (so born approx 1854) Lancelot Addison Rudd age 4 (so born approx 1857) Lodgers according to 1861 census:- Robert Rudd - age 36 - Drapers Assistant born Yorkshire - Hawes area. Alfred Bristow - age 22 - Drapers Assistant born Hackney, Middx. Sarah Agnes - age 16 - House Servant - born Hackney, Middx. By 1871 Lancelot had disappeared from the census but the rest of the family were there. 1888 - Richard Addison Rudd married Maria Porter (born 1861 approx) married in Kensal Green, Middx. 1891 Census - Richard and Maria living at 137 Praed St, Paddington (Drapers Shop) Child - Lancelot Addison Rudd (my grandfather) born Paddington 1889 2 further children came along following Lancelot - they were:- 1) Reginald Addison Rudd - he married a Rose ..........? Children Olive, Jacky (born 1930 approx), Georgy, John and Lance. 2) Ethal? Mary?(Sis) Rudd who married a Frank Greenwood; children from this marriage were twins Reg & Ray; Reg believed to live in New Haw, Surrey. Ray possibly Canada. My grandfather Lancelot Addison Rudd (born 1889) was left to take over the family business at the age of 11 in 1900 approx following the death of his father (date unconfirmed). He then appears again in Addlestone in 1913 marrying Daisy Beatrice Bailey (born 1891 Addlestone). Their children were:- 1) Bernard Addison Rudd 1914 approx - died 1980's 2) Reginald Addison Rudd 1916 - died in WWII 3) Niva Ethel Rudd (nickname Sis) - 1920 approx - died 1980's 4) Ivor Addison Rudd (nickname Jim) - 1922 approx - died 1990's Hastings. 5) Peter Addison Rudd - born 1928 - died 1935. 6) June Barbara Rudd - 1930 - died 1998 (my mother) 7) Brenda Rosemary Rudd - 1931 - only one left alive of these children - living in Canada.
