Shirley, I'm Kay Bowen Rudd. I'm married to Noel Rudd who was born ion Gadsden, Alabama in 1937. His father was James Vann Rudd who was also born in Gadsden in om Nov. 25, 1910. His father was William Millard Rudd who married Jane Wester in Gadsden. They both died of pellegra around 1911. James was raised by his sister Sudie.. Jane and William are burried in Hokes Bluff cementary at the Baptist church.. I would like to find out more info on these people. Hi Kay...... I'm Ron Presley, a RUDD grandson who is in Central Alabama, just a few miles below you, if you're in the Gadsden, Al., area. Do you have any clue if Noel's RUDD family have been in that same area for many years? My own RUDDS came from Georgia into Shelby County in 1860, my grt-grt=grandfather being named JAMES. They lived there for a number of years, and after the Civil War scattered out to who knows where. My grt-grandfather remained in Shelby County, and a brother apparently moved to the Jefferson/St. Clair Counties,where some still live, and the others went up in vapor.
