Seth as born to Elias and appears in line between the other two "brothers". James died when Burrell was ten. James wife died two years later. The young boys went to live with James brother Elias and were then considered and listed as sons of Elias.>> Thanks Janice, I've very interested in the documentation of this information above... it's the first I've heard that James' wife Sarah Bowman died 2 yrs after James. Can you tell me where you found this information? Also, is it then your understanding that the Elias that is the brother of James, is the same Elias David Rudd? Thanks for the lead on the Jim Rudd in Geneva, I'll follow up on it. Yes, I talked with Geletta Shepard years ago and have already investigated that information. As for the Susan Rudd I refer to, she looks to be about 67 years old in the Burrel Rudd house in 1850 AL so she would have been born about 1783 and makes me wonder if that is Burrel's mother. She makes a good mystery when you consider what is believed about Burrel's parentage. Thanks again for your help and if you could tell me where you found the information on Sarah Bowman Rudd's death, and Elias David being James brother, I sure would appreciate it. Linda

    3. In material I received from Curtis and Gloria Godwin it states thatJames died in 1828 in Charleston Co., SC and that Sarah died in 1830. and they were the parents of Burrell and Wesley who were later listed as children of Elias, James brother. Yes, this Elias is is Elias David. There was another child named Elias and called Ely who was born in 1773 (child number 3 of George Lounsdale) and died in 1848. Our Elias was not born in 1790, child number seven of George Lounsdale. This information was all on a document they sent me over the net and the document was entitled Descendents of Burlingham Rudd. Names are repeated often in families of the Rudd lines, maybe because they called the first one Ely they decided to use the name again and actually call this one Elias. ----- Original Message ----- From: <LRudd71847@aol.com> To: <RUDD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 18, 2001 12:25 PM Subject: Re: [RUDD] RUDD of SC > In a message dated 05/18/01 9:39:07 AM Central Daylight Time, > janice_jackson@ala.nu writes: > > << As for Burrell, I have he and William Wesley being born to James but being > raised by James brother, Elias.
