    3. It is possible that we do have common ancestors, but that remains to be seen. There was a DEMOSTHENES RUDD and family, plus, in the same household, a brother or named CISROW RUDD who was some older that DEMOSTHENES, and they lived in Lebanon, in whatever county Collinsville is in. This is not far from the north Georgia line DeKalb County is the name of the county, I think. They came from North Carolina originally, spent some time in north Georgia, then moved to Alabama for a number of years. From there, they moved to either Texas or Arkansas. This information about their last residence came from Mr. Hugh RUDD a few years ago. Also, there was a JOSIAH RUDD(speaking from the top of my head through all of this)who was written up in the Dekalb County history as having been a prominant educator, or he contributed in some way to the county for that purpose. A monument to him there. This about the 1840's? BUT, he too came through Georgia, and DEKALB County there, too. Another RUDD who hasn't been mentioned yet in these posts who passed through Georgia, but didn't stop in Alabama that I know of, was a PLEASANT RUDD, a son also named PLEASANT,and his family. They went to Arkansas just before the Civil War, where they had another little PLEASANT (son). They fought in the Civil War for both Arkansas and Missouri. Loyalties not known. There really is very little that I do know, about most of these RUDDS, but, the ones I have recorded came from the Georgia direction. Not saying they ALL did, just the ones in my notebook. The ones who came to and through Tenn. to my memory were connected to BURLINGHAM III, and ole BURLINGTON, not the same person. I would like to learn more about BURLINGTON, as his parentage too, is a mystery to me. Maybe, since some of our Southern RUDDS have finally woke up and noticed the Rootweb-l we can finally get some of our own mysteries solved. To my own opinion, most of these boys all came from North Carolina to begin with, including my own JAMES RUDD. Thanks for listening to my banter. I will have to dig out my old book and look at some of those other names which were copied down blindly, for future reference.
