    2. Hi Janice, Thanks for that information. As you have heard, I am working with Gloria Godwin and some others on this reevaluation of the Elias David Rudd line in FL. Recent information has come to us to cause question of the parentage of Burrel Rudd, as well as, William Wesley Rudd. It has also opened questions as to the parentage of Elias David Rudd in relation to George Lounsdale Rudd, Sr and Jr. in SC. In your research on Edward Burrel, did you see the older woman in his house in 1850 AL census named Susan Rudd? Do you know who she is? And did you ever discover a relationship between Arthur Rudd and Burrel Rudd? Arthur is living about 2 houses down from Burrel in 1850 Coffee Co. AL. Both Arthur's son, Ramen and Burrel state they are shoemakers by profession, were you able to determine anything from that information. Also, there is David Rudd who appears to have a relationship with Arthur and Burrel as well as Elias David. Would you have any thoughts on that? Yes, I am familiar with the Rudd Web Site, actually, I am associated with Gene Rudd as a contact for the Elias David Rudd line. Any information you can share on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks, Linda Rudd

    3. I have Susan Rudd born in 1848 in Georgia (could have then moved to Alabama for 1850 Census) as a daughter of Seth and Nancy Rudd. Seth was in the 1840 Census in Alabama...then has children in Georgia and later died and was buried there...this does not mean he did not live in Alabama at some point, alot of them went back and forth for some reason. As for Burrell, I have he and William Wesley being born to James but being raised by James brother, Elias. Seth as born to Elias and appears in line between the other two "brothers". James died when Burrell was ten. James wife died two years later. The young boys went to live with James brother Elias and were then considered and listed as sons of Elias. Not sure if any formal adoption took place back then, probably no reason was required. They already had the correct last name and just blended in with the existing family from that point on. Easy for them, bad for modern day researchers! No sure about the David Rudd question but I do know that there were so many Rudd's they used the same names alot... would have run out altogther otherwise! I don't show him right now and don't have time to dig right this minute. You might want to contact Jim Rudd in Geneva. His email is MELjim@aol.com and he might can help you some. He lives in the area where all these people are buried and he has knowledge of the line and where some of the other of Burrell's people are now. He is from the William Penn line and his grandfather was William Penn's son Walter Mack. Another great source for me, she too has some family Bible's, is Geletta Shepard, 264 Shelby Drive, Lake City, Flordia. She does not have an email. Good Luck...I am not a Rudd myself, but feel like a part of the family since I have spent the last year doing all this research for my friend. We have been to Geneva and visited most of the graves and have walked the orginal property of Burrell which was purchased in late 1800's. It was quite a thrill for my adoptive friend to feel this much connection with her roots. We found all you Rudd's to be a great family to be a part of! ----- Original Message ----- From: <LRudd71847@aol.com> To: <RUDD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 18, 2001 12:10 AM Subject: Re: [RUDD] RUDD of SC > Hi Janice, > > Thanks for that information.
