    2. Dear Cousins, While searching for my COOPER ancestors in Saratoga County (genweb site), I came across the following which was in the "History of Stillwater, Saratoga County, NY" by Nathaniel Bartlett Sylvester (1878): (Speaking of John Neilson, son of Samuel Neilson) ...He left four sons, - John, Samuel, Charles, and Henry. John settled north of the old place, Samuel in Saratoga, Henry in East Line, and Charles on the old homestead. Daughters became the wives of Martin Vanderburg, Richard Dunning, and A.H. Rudd. *** Does anyone know who A.H. was? *** I bought my copy (actually bought 3 so that my children would each have a copy) of the August "National Geographic" at Borders Books & Music. They can also be purchased at Barnes & Nobles but it's so close to the end of the month, the September issue may be on the stands now. *** I would encourage anyone who wants to learn more about their family lines to attend family reunions. My husband and I went to our first-ever reunion of the Schurch (also Sherk/Shirk and about 50 other spellings) Family Association which was held in Kitchener Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. I found the Association on the internet, joined and began to receive their newsletter. We had a wonderful time at the reunion (over 200 people registered) and I learned a great deal about this line of the family (a brother to my direct ancestor) which migrated to Canada from Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1800. Talk about feeling connected! My next goal is to attend the reunion of the descendants of Joseph RUDD and Sarah STORY, hopefully next year. Did anyone on the list attend? Janet or Dot?
