Is there anyone out there that knows anything of Arthur Rudd, from SC,born abt 1803,his wife being Rebecah Rudd, from SC born 1808? Someone sent me a mail saying, that this line of Rudds were some of the first ever recorded in US.That,I do not know about.I do know that in 1844 Arthur sold his farm of 125 acres to the Yates family, sometime afterwards went to Coffee County Alabama, for they are in the 1850 cenus. Some time thereafter, they returned to Ga,Decatur Ga,and are in the 1860 and 70 census.I want so much to find where Arthur came from. His wife Rachael was a Spears, and has her listed also as coming from SC. There has been tales told that 3 brotheres left SC to go to Ga,and Al. I want so much to know who the brothers were, and the relitives. Any help I would appreciate so much, Thank you, Best Regards Shirley
This was not the line of Rudd's I was researching but I have done a line of Alabama Rudd's and in doing so found that Geletta Shepard, 264 Shelby Drive, Lake City, Florida 32055 has old family Bibles, etc. with a wealth of information on early Rudd's in south Alabama, north Florida an Georgia. She does not have email. Write to her and give her as much info as possible and I am sure she will help you if she can. I looked through my papers to see if I had mention of Arthur or Rebecca (my Rudd line came from S.C., too) but no mention....sorry. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Shirl4455@aol.com> To: <RUDD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 22, 2001 1:36 PM Subject: [RUDD] Arthur Rudd > Is there anyone out there that knows anything of Arthur Rudd, from SC,born abt > 1803,his wife being Rebecah Rudd, from SC born 1808? > Someone sent me a mail saying, that this line of Rudds were some of the first > ever recorded in US.That,I do not know about.I do know that in 1844 Arthur > sold his farm of 125 acres to the Yates family, sometime afterwards went to > Coffee County Alabama, for they are in the 1850 cenus. Some time > thereafter, they returned to Ga,Decatur Ga,and are in the 1860 and 70 census.I > want so much to find where Arthur came from. His wife Rachael was a Spears, and > has her listed also as coming from SC. > There has been tales told that 3 brotheres left SC to go to Ga,and Al.
