Joann-- Your reply had some interesting things in it, so I'm going to reply to the group so they get the benefit of your and my comments. I've also removed my e-mail address from "reply to" in the properties of my Internet Mail. Let me know if this does the trick. It is entirely possible that Barak may have died shortly after visiting in Missouri, if he and Livonia were visiting William and his family. However, his death certificate shows the place of death as "218 Gardner St., Joliet, Ill." and the cause as "acute hepatitis". The date of death Milton has is close, but not quite correct, according to Barak's tombstone(which, by the way, is in Illinois). The tombstone shows Oct. 12, 1900, as does his death certificate. Milton's assertion that Alonzo fought for the Confederacy, however, is totally false. I have a copy of his Civil War service record, issued by the U.S., which shows him fighting in the Illinois Militia for the Union Army, and taking a bullet in the leg at the battle of Mission Ridge, Tennessee. I'll have to help him sort that one out. I'll drop him a line. Thanks for sending his address. Kevin. -----Original Message----- From: Joann H. You need to go into properties or some such to change "Reply To." Take out your name and leave it blank. Then when you send a message to the Rudd Mail List, replies will automatically go back there. I had to try it a couple of times before it fixed mine. Notice that most people's headings show Return To with the Rudd Mail List. However, yours doesn't show Return To. Well, that's my computer lesson for today! I haven't yet written Milton Rudd, but he's descended from William Henry Rudd who married Elidia Ann Hayden. Milton has them dying in Chula, MO, but doesn't have exact dates for them. He also has your Barack dying in Chula, MO Oct. 14, 1900. Is that what you have? He sent me some FTM printouts and lists six children for Barack Rudd and Lydia Attwood: William Henry Rudd, Emma Rudd, Adelia Rudd, Charles Rudd, Sophronia Rudd, Alonzo Rudd. Interesting item he adds on Alonzo Rudd: Alonzo, much to the consternation of the family went off to fight with the Confederate Army. He was never heard from again. Bet you didn't know that! Milton's address is 420 Parkland Way, Fernley, NV 89408-9518. Hope you can fix your Reply To function. You should have a preferences place or an options place or something. Since I use Netscape, I'm sure mine's different, but you can figure it out! Joann Kevin K.
