Just yesterday we were looking at the Ballard Co., Ky. Rudds. I told him I would very strongly suggest he dig into those Rudds because I would be willing to bet they were related. My son-in-law did his research years ago when he was in college at BYU in Utah. He was very young, green, and hasn't had a lot of time since then but to do hit and miss. I guess I really need to dig into what he's done and see if I can see anything. What really interested me, and I told him about this this morning, was the talk about a John Rudd who was an indentured servant in 1769. We've pondered for quite some time why his John Rudd with sons Bryant, Edward, and Ausborn were one the 1830 census of Knox Co., Ky. as "Freemen". Is it possible John Rudd's father was the John Rudd indentured servant, a non-freeman, and the children considered themself as freemen? Your e-mail is interesting and I'm going to also forward it to him. He's very, very busy and I don't know when he'll get to this. Jo
