    3. Attention: Celia Nancy was asking about birth record for Erastus a while back and you suggested there was a Rudd Family Bible in existence with someone. Have you ever come across your notes about it? It would be very valuable to many of us if it became available. Since David, the first child, was the only one of Johnson and Abigail's children that was recorded in Middletown, it is very difficult to show proof of relationship for the rest of their children. Maybe someone knows where they were accepted into the Church or something of that sort. I am trying to prove the relationship for Barack but parentage was not even listed on his death certificate. Johnson's probate of estate even failed to list any children other than David. If anyone has any suggestions it would certainly be very helpful. Thanks, Milton Rudd

    2. Milton and Cousins, Yes I am still in need of Erastus's birth proof. Celia wrote to me a while back and said she could not find "The Rudd Family Bible" notes. Hopefully someone someday will find something. Has anyone researched land records? I have been told that sometimes they list children. If anyone has researched Johnson's land records please let us know. I'm going to Fort Wayne in Nov. and plan on researching land records, but don't want to waste my time, if someone else has done it. ANY other suggestions as to where to look for evidence of birth?????? Thanks Nancy << Attention: Celia Nancy was asking about birth record for Erastus a while back and you suggested there was a Rudd Family Bible in existence with someone. 2. Hi Cici, I do not know where Seth McHuron and Mary Hazen came from, at this point. The Marie Hogle information has a pedigree chart for Lucinda Rudd that lists 4 generations of Abigail Mahurin's ancestry and it has her parents as Hezekiah Mahurin and Abigail Dickerman, citing baptismal records and wills for sources. I'll change my chart in rootsweb. Thanks for point that out. Glenn Thibault

    3. There's also a good Mehurin article in the NEHGS Register, Vol. 136, April 1982. I seem to have only copied beginning on page 119, with Hezekiah(3) Mahurin and his wife Abigail Dickerman. But I'm sure there's earlier information in there. 3. Thank you for writing. The parents that I found at Rootsweb were Seth McHuron and Mary Hazen. Have you any idea where this might have come from? I will have to change what I entered in FTM to the names you sent. This information comes from The Eddy Family in America (1930), p. 11 of Additions and Corrections: Orpha was a daughter of Spencer and Sarah (Eddy) Nicholson. 3. Ann, I come from a different Rudd line, but "Lightkeeper" caught my eye and I read another exchange where you said you loved lighthouses. You may enjoy this site: http://www.lava.net/~tabor/. Ralph Williams has some delightful pictures of Gulf Coast Lighthouses as well as his family history of four generations of lighthouse keepers. While I am not related to Ralph, his family and mine were connected for several generations because both were involved in the Lighthouse Service. Merle Rudd Harms.

    3. I can't add anything to what Joann reported - that's all I have as well! If you'd like more information on Maverick's ancestors, I can help out there - let me know. All the best, Celia >Hello cousins. 2. Rudd Cousin, This is what I got back from CiCi, before I sent her your replies. I though I would post it here just incase someone is looking for "James" info. Thank you, Ann, Joann and Celia for posting replies. I passed them on to CiCI. I have also told her if she wants to join the group, to write to you Celia. Thanks again Nancy Montague, MI PS. I soon will be posting for info. so beware !!!! <<Subj: Re: Barak Rudd through his son Maverick Date: 9/20/2000 11:48:12 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: cicim@mediaone.net (Elsimae Morse) To: NCRYERSON@aol.com Hi Nancy, thank you for writing. I did find another Barak cousin in OR who descends from his son James, and she has shared some info. What we don't know yet is what happened to Maverick's daughter, Amelia/Adelia etc. She's the one that married the Whitted and is my gg grandmother. The Barak cousins sure seem like nice, interested people. Take care, CiCi >>>

    3. Hi, Nancy and other cousins, Kevin is descended from the Barak that is a son of Johnson, who was brother of the first Barak! Rudd Branches doesn't say where Maverick died. It mentions in his list of children a daughter, Amelia, born in Michigan, and married a ---- Whitted. So at least now we have his first name! Maverick goes back Barak5, Increase4, Joseph3, Nathaniel2, Jonathan1, the emigrant. Joann Nichols NCRYERSON@aol.com wrote: > > Hello cousins. 2. Dot. I love lighthouses. I collect lighthouse "everything". I'm just fascinated with the part they have played in history over the years. I live in Michigan, so I am mostly familiar with the Great Lakes Lighthouses, but I long to get to the east coast someday. What is your lighthouse involvement? Ann

    2. Ann: You sign yourself "lightkeeper". What does that signify? Is a lighthouse involved? I'm very much into them, myself. Dot DuMond, N.Y.S.

    2. I descended through Barak Rudd's daughter, Lucinda. I don't have a lot on the family except for what I have received on the Internet, but I would love to compare notes. I'd love to hear from any other Barak Rudd connections too. Ann

Barak Rudd, VT, some > OR Posted by: CiCi Morse cicim@mediaone.net Date: September 09, 2000 recently found info says that I descend from Barak Rudd through his son Maverick, and the latter's daughter Amelia (Adeline, Adelia). 1. [RUDD] Vernon Rudd and Irish Rudd book
    2. My apologies for giving faulty information. I have actually ordered the book, "An Irish Rudd Family" from Vernon Rudd. Although the main line which he tracks is not of much interest to this particular group of Rudds he does recount the entire history of the Rudd name as done by Mary Amelia Rudd in her book. (He explicitly gives her credit for most of the history, but he does add some of his own input) Vernon's e-mail address is: RuddVP@aol.com I haven't tried this out yet, but I have called and mailed a check to him so I am pretty sure the following is correct: Vernon Rudd 30256 Avenir Way Menisee, CA 92584 (909) 672-0622 As I (slowly) work my way through this book I will pass along anything new that I find.
