The item about N. Andrews being a daughter is not correct. N. Andrews was really Charles N. Andrews who was made guardian to the son Silas. I have the documents from probate. He was also appointed to be the administrator of the estate. There is a document with no date where the administrator "has not discovered any money property estate or credits of said estate, and does not know of any." "And he resigns the office of Administrator of said Estate." David F. Talbot was then appointed administrator and guardian of the son. This last item appears to be dated Jan. 6, 1859. I am sure this son Silas who was listed as age 8 in 1859 is the 13 year old pauper in the poorhouse in Owen, Winnebago Co., IL in 1860, and the ancestor of Arlene Willet who is on the list and Suzanne Houchin who does not have e-mail! Best, Joann

    3. The 1850 census for Burritt Township, Winnebago Co., IL shows a listing on page 338 for Silas RUDD, age 62, b. VT; Nancy A. Rudd, age 34, b. IN; John HILL, age 11, b. IN; Mary T. Hill, age 6, b. IN; James A. Hill, age 1, b. WI. Would like information on Nancy Ann and her first husband who must have been a Hill. Silas Rudd died in 1856 in Burritt Township. Have no further information on Nancy, other than the information that after Silas died she asked for a guardian for THEIR son, Silas Rudd born in Dec. 1850. Also would like contact with any Hill descendants of Nancy. Thanks, Joann Nichols [email protected]

    3. Celia - Seems page 47 was never in the package you received from Rogue Valley. Do you think we could write and ask for a copy of just that page? I'd be glad to do so if you give me their address. SWARTOUT -- I subscribed to: [email protected] to learn some about my Dutch ancestors..... have seen several e-mails regarding this name, but didn't think about it till yesterday as I scanned through your list of names you are researching. Thought you might want to send a query to them, if you have not previously done so. I again want to express my deep and sincere appreciation for all the hard work you and Kevin, and Joann, and others do for this Rudd tree/forest! Going to be 90 today - time for a swim!!! (Clyde uncovered the pool yesterday). It's warmer here than in Phoenix!! (who needs the desert?) Have a pleasant day, everyone. Janet

    3. Hello Janet and all, I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you.... I have had a job change... was let go from my last one... and had to find another... being a single mom of two girls I must do what I must....I have been reading the messages though~smile~ Okay... well Janet.. I don't have much on this family at all... thats why I was grabbing at straws here.... What I do have is this..... Richard Girdon Rudd.....I would say he was born abt. 1850 to 1860.. He married .... Marguerite Robinson.......They had the following children.. Edward Warner Rudd..... born.. 10 June 1880 in New york City, NY Sophie Rudd...? Daisy Rudd...? Richard Girdon Rudd JR.....? My Grandmother tells me of stories of when she was very young.. and they would come home from Panama... where her father Edward Warner Rudd.... was working building the Panama Canal at that time... she would tell me of Walking in Central Park with Marguerite ( Robinson) Rudd... she also told me stories of her Aunts Daisy and Sophie as being Zigfiell Girls...and that Daisy's husband was an Accountant for the Vanderbuilts and others I can't find where I wrote his name down at this time.. but will look or ask grandma again..... I do wish I had more to go on.... I know that they had a family Cemetery in New York City , NY... for grandma said that her cousin Richard Girdon Rudd was asking to buy her fathers plot... and my grandmothers sister wouldn't sell it...this sister also distroyed all the photos of this family when Edward Warner Rudd died of a heartattack in 1945 in Cal.... she said my Great grand mother didn't need them memories...( Hey I sure did..~smile~) I do wish people would just put them away... you know? Anyways... I have ordered a copy of his Social Security app... but it is taking its time getting here.... any tips on where to look ? I did notice that a few Rudds in a message yesterday... married some girls with the last name Robinson.... No it was a Bingham , Benjermin who married a Robinson.... is their any Marguerites in this family?... I feel my Rudds belong here.... I just need to find where????... Has anyone come accross the name Girdon ????..... Does anyone have any family Charts for the John Rudd and Zilpah Warner ??? 1. Rudd
    2. Celia G. Snyder
    3. Hi Joann, You are absolutely correct on #39 - it is the probate papers for Johnson Rudd, dated 1818. The copies are pretty poor and I misread the old handwriting. Thanks! Celia I have a question on #39. >Are the probate papers for Solomon Rudd or are they for Johnson Rudd? I >know Barak was the administrator for Johnson Rudd, but I don't know who >Solomon Rudd might be. Or is it a different Barak Rudd? I think I sent >you my transcription of Johnson's estate so perhaps you could compare >#39 with that. If it is someone other than Johnson, I would also like a >copy of #39.
