    3. Judy, For some reason, this message bounced, so I'm taking the liberty of forwarding it for you. Celia Hello Rudd Cousins, Does anyone know if the Rudd Family Research Association from Chula Vista, CA connects to our Jonathan? Their book, "An Irish Rudd Family 1760-1988: Rudd Origins and Other Irish Rudds" makes me think not as our Rudds were from England. Their focus is on descendants of Gordon Arther Rudd and Alicia Wellwood. Someone sent me info about the book and I was just curious. Judy

    2. Hi Judy, re: " An Irish Rudd Family, 1760-1988", Norman Rudd Yes the book does connect to R-Gang, however they have a lot more on the Irish descent. The author's wife, Marie, is one of us- she descends down from Jonathan. I have spoken to both of them via phone and they are wonderful people. Of course we all are. I purchased their book some time ago--and immediatesly sent a copy to my Dad and brother. They also have a family newsletter with lots of photos and such. There's a miniscule cost to join in their ranks--and great news in store for you. I have caught Maria online-(AOL) a couple times and chatted--good luck. Vera Mae

    3. Hi Janet, Sorry to be so long in responding - USGenWeb is taking all of my time. I'll write to the librarian regarding page 47 and give her a nudge about the other info they have. Regarding Swartout - Are you also descended from them - I have quite a bit of information if you think it might help. I also have a copy of the Swartout Chronicles. 3. Hi guys! I have a possible lead on a letter Joe Jarfas wrote earlier on a Jonathan Rudd-let's see if anyone else can confirm a hunch I have: [email protected] wrote: <snip> I also have this information: FIRST GENERATION 1. Jonathan Rudd was born. He died. He was married to Tabethia Ormsbee (daughter of Samuel Ormsbee and Dinah Fisher) on 9 Dec 1762 in Norwich, New London, CT. Tabethia Ormsbee was born on 27 Feb 1742/43 in Norwich, New London, CT. She died. Jonathan Rudd and Tabethia Ormsbee had the following children: +2 i. Rebecca Rudd. SECOND GENERATION 2. Rebecca Rudd was born on 10 Aug 1767 in Norwich, New London, CT. She died. She was married to Othniel Gager. Othniel Gager was born about 1768. He died on 30 Mar 1857 in Franklin Co., CT. Anybody has any details on these? Joe Joe-is it possible that Jonathan who married Tabethia Ormsbee is the son of Jonathan Rudd and Joanna Gregory, born Sep. 13, 1733? This would put him at about the right age to have been married on the above date. Any thoughts??? Anyone else wanna comment? Kevin K. 3. Hi, Bev, I looked in stuff that I have and don't find a Thomas Rudd in VT in 1850 census listing; however, there are two in VA (Virginia) in 1850 and one there in 1860. No listings for Thomas E. Rudd. In 1850, one listing is page 191 in Appomattox Co.; the other is on page 173 in Portsmouth, Norfolk Co., VA. In 1860, the listing is on page 792, Richmond E. Div., Henrico Co. If your library can borrow these two censuses you might find some good stuff. Good luck, Joann Nichols (in VT) [email protected] wrote: > Hi, > I have Thomas edward rudd b. 5-22-1849 in Vermont, d.4-30-1921 in > Lakewood, N.j. He was married to Jennie E. Stewart. 2. Dear RUDD Cousins, Here are a few more RUDDs: >From "Tree Talks" Vol. 10, No. 4, Dec. 1970: Buried in Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, NY: RUDD, Edward Allen, 25 Aug. 1852 - 1 May 1893 Harold Paul, 28 Feb. 1884 - 22 Aug. 1944 Lawrence, 1802 - (I have to recheck the date of this one) Virginia, infant Note: Mayville is in Chautauqua County (western-most county of NY). The following is from "10,000 Vital Statistics from Eastern New York": RUDD, William T. of Schenectady m. 9 Nov. 1848 Adeline M. Platt of Utica. RUDD, Charles of the firm of Griffin and Rudd, booksellers, of NYC m. 1 Jun. 1813 Sally Irish, dau. of Capt. Charles of Hudson; Rev. Prentice. RUDD, Hilen, Esq., 27, d. 6 Dec. 1819 in Poughkeepsie (typhus) RUDD, Reuben B., m. 22 Feb. 1813 Eliza Smith both of Poughkeepsie; Rev. Cuyler. And I think I've seen these names listed in the RUDD list before: RUDD, Elizabeth (Mrs.), 72, d. 16 Aug. 1848 at the home of her son-in- law, Anson S. Miller in Rockford, IL (b. in Franklin, CT, widow of Jabez F. Esq. one of the early settlers in Oneida County, New York) Anyone claim these RUDDs? Judy
