A Cole ancestress whose ancestry I would like is Lydia Cole. She was married in Middletown, Rutland Co., VT 10 Jan. 1801 to Increase(6) Rudd, both of Middletown. None of their children are recorded, but are listed in the History of Danby, VT. Increase and Lydia went out to Collins, Erie Co., NY where they both died; Lydia about 1857 (gravestone damaged) and Increase in 1872. According to the 1850 NY census Lydia was born about 1784 in Massachusetts. Increase was born in 1780, recorded in Middletown, VT, but since Middletown wasn't chartered until 1784, he probably was born somewhere else, maybe in one of the towns that became part of Middletown. Would appreciate any suggestions on how to find Lydia Cole's ancestry. Thanks a lot. Joann Nichols [email protected]

Hi Cousins, I received the following information from a gal who wrote me asking for a lookup in some Champaign County references. She mentioned that she was a lookup volunteer for the book, "The Hazen Family in America." I mentioned my Hazen connection and she sent this after I typed up a couple of bios for her. Hope this helps any of you who are descendants of Increase Rudd. Celia, What is your source that would connect Mary Foster to Alfred the Great? Glenn
Hi Glenn, This is great information - thanks! I, for one, would love to see further details when you have time. There is also a possible connection through Francis Peabody's wife Mary Foster. Unfortunately, I have not been able to definitively determine if Mary was the mother of Lydia Peabody who married Thomas Howlett or if Francis' other wife, Lydia, is her mother. If Mary is our gal, her ancestry goes back to Odin, King Alfred the Great, several Kings of France, Counts in Flanders, etc. etc. etc. For now, Celia At 8:26 PM -0400 8/17/98, [email protected] wrote: >Hi Rudd Cousins, > Many of you have mentioned in the past the potential for Rudd royal >connections but have not elucidated further. > Today I came across a Rudd Royal Connection, I can give more detailed info >if anyone wants, but to summarize: > 1) Increase Rudd m. This is for Sandy and anyone else interested. I checked Ancestry's online databases for any information on Rebecca, Hariett, and Sally A. There wasn't anything.
