    3. Hi Dave, I was involved with a mailing to Rudds, but I'm not from Canada and I don't believe I received any information from you. However, I belong to a Rudd email discussion group and am cc'ing them on this. Perhaps one of them may be able to help. 3. Celia and all the 'cuzzins'-- I'm finally getting caught up on my homework, and trying to get some genealogy done. I'm in the process of updating my website, and I am getting ready to upload zipped files of all of our correspondence, similar to what I have on my site for the Burnett family. I will be using a program called WinZip to combine up to 100 of our e-mails into one compressed file, and there will probably be two or three of these files on the site. Once this is done, any new member who joins the list can go to my website and download zipped copies of everything that's been said up to this point. It's a good way to catch up, and not miss anything that might relate to your line. We have archived digest files available at rootsweb, that folks can go get, but it's a little more time consuming to do it that way. I also have the files from usroots, the old server we were on before, and these aren't available at rootsweb. I should have this on my site within the next few days. If you want to see what I'm talking about, go to my website and hit the Burnett Family History Research page, and click on the link that says "Download Area". You'll see what I'm getting ready to do for the Rudds. For those of you who are new to the group, the emigrant ancestor of the New England Rudd line, Lt. Jonathan Rudd, was married in the winter of 1646-47 by Governor John Winthrop(the younger), first governor of Connecticut, to his bride at a stream in Connecticut which is now called Bride Brook. The story of the wedding is on my homepage, as well as a picture of the 'Dowry Chest' purported to have belonged to Jonathan and his bride, whoever she was. One of the mysteries we've been trying to solve since the group began is who she was...Mary Metcalf, Mary Birchard, Faith Ripley, no one knows for sure. We'd still love to find out. My roll call: Lt. Jonathan Rudd(1620--1658)/? Joseph Rudd(1708-1787)/Sarah Moseley Increase (Moseley?) Rudd(1734-1802)/Bathsheba Johnson Johnson Rudd(1767-1817)/Abigail Brown Barak Rudd(1812-1900)/Livonia Lydia Atwood Alonzo Eugene Rudd(1841-1913)/Charlotte Amanda Empie Arthur Eugene Rudd(1868-1951/Berneicia Catherine Ralstin Ethel Geraldine Rudd(1905-1972)/Ralph Elliott Burnett Doris Evon Burnett(1930- )/Charles Robert Stephenson Kevin Kent Stephenson Joann has put me in touch with a descendant of Barak Rudd's in the last few days, and I've written to him...hopefully I'll have some more info to add on Alonzo's siblings and their families. 3. Hi, Ardith, I think you are the only descendant of Barak(5) Rudd that is on the list right now. There was a descendant on about a year ago, but he dropped off. Anyway, welcome, cousin! The wife I have listed for Barker F. Rudd, son of Barak and Abigail (Mahurin) Rudd, is Ann(a) Rudd, with a second marriage to a Lucinda Brakeman. The info came from Rudd Branches, a manuscript that Celia got from the Rogue Valley Library. What other information do you have on this marriage and the children. I have a note that Barker died in Cass Co., MI. A lot of Barak's children seem to have gone to Cass County. Joann Nichols, a descendant of Silas(5), brother of Barak. The line I have (not all verified yet): Richard & Susanna Richard (d.1809) & Elizabeth HAWKINS John (d.1845) & Elizabeth MINCHIN Thomas (d.1866) & Sybil HUGHES Rev. Thomas & Frances PARKER Herbert Edwin (1873-1941) & Lyall BONNYCASTLE (1876-1961) The earlier generations were all in Wexford, Ireland. Jennifer [email protected]

Bula Mae had daughter, Barbara McKinley who married John T. Haynes "Jack", Sr. in Lubbock. They had son, Joseph Vance Haynes whom I married. He is also listed on the website you noted above. I had been in touch with Gene Mathis years and years ago and he must have gathered updated info which I am now able to make corrections to mine now. Gene was the one who sent me my original info back in 1989-90. I just simply lost track of him, but now left him a message from the Website. Thanks for your info it filled in alot of gaps. 2. Hi Charolette, My name is Linda Rudd. I saw your post ont the Rudd mail list and I thought I'd give you what I have on your son's ancestors. It's somwhat different from your information. But several of us have been working on this family line and feel pretty sure this is the most correct information and, yes, some assumptions are made. You'll see I don't have anything past your Bula Mae Rudd, so you really could help us fill in some blanks. Also, I'm going to send copies of this to the others that are online with the Burlingham family and you might hear from them also. There is a Rudd Web Site at http://mh101.infi.net/~grudd/ ........Walter "Gene" Rudd is the moderator and he is at [email protected] Your sons might be interested to know that their William "Uncle Bill" Elias Rudd was both a Texas Ranger and a Civil War Veteran..so they have quite a Texas heritage in them. Well, got to run off to work, I'll talk to you again soon. 3. Hello, Rudds......This is Ronald Presley, who is still in search of my JAMES RUDD. But, in mid stream, I would like to say 'THANKS' for the help and effort you are all giving. If JAMES is not found, it will not be your fault. Your help is appreciated. Don't believe a RUDD would do less. Thank you. 3. Janet-- I was reading the exchange between you and Joann on Harvey Rudd, and looked in my file at Samuel and Mary Ames Rudd. I have no information on them as far as where they died, and when. Do you? I'm also curious as to how they ended up in Kaneville, IL. Johnson Rudd's family (several of the kids, actually) moved to near Joliet in about 1837...makes me wonder if Samuel and family moved there at about the same time. Thoughts???? -----Original Message----- From: Joann H. If not, here is info on Harvey R. Rudd from my 1860 census index: Census Index: U.S. Selected States/Counties, 1860 Rudd, Harvey R. State : IL County : Kane Co. Location : Kaneville Town Year : 1860 Page # : 1047 It might possibly list some kids with them. Good luck, Joann janet dafler wrote: > Hi again, > > When you hit the wrong key---mistakes happen. 1. Re: Samuel Rudd
    2. Hi R-Gang Samuel Rudd did not make it to Illionois. Mary Ames did go with some of her other family members. Sam and Mary share a headstone in Woodville Cemetery, Jefferson County, NY., even though Mary does not rest there. Samuel's original stone is flat to the ground, but most readable. The dates are RUDD Samuel Mary P Ames 1779-1855 1788-1877 MARRIED JAN. 2, 1806 Randy probably has more reliable knowledge about the move. I have the feeling that Mary went west with some of her Ames brothers. Vera Mae
