I'm a very beginner North Carolina researcher and just have a couple of questions. I would like to order birth and/or death certificates and am wondering where I need to go. First one is for a woman that was born in Jan. 1912 in Rowan County. She died about 1982 in China Grove, Rowan County. I just saw that the state started keeping birth records in 1913 and for anything before that to go to the county. Does anyone know who I contact to order a 1912 Rowan County Birth Record? What are the chances that there is actually a birth record for someone born in 1912 there? What information is listed on a death record for someone that died in 1982? I really need the parents names of this person, will they be on the death record? I am also looking for the same information on someone else that was born and died in Rowan County. Born in 1899 (Jan 8 is the date I was given by a family member) and died June 1969. I have this person's father's name and I really need to verify that and I don't have a mother's name at all. Does anyone know the current prices to order birth and death certificates? thanks, Tracee
