Heinrich or Henry FREY, son of Johann Valentin FREY and Anna Barbara BINKLEY, was probably born about 1751-1752 in Lancaster Co. PA, and probably came to NC around 1765 with his parents, grandfather Hans Peter Frey, and other family members. According to my notes, he died in 1802. His wives were 1) Sarah KLEIN (d. 1776) and 2) Elizabeth MORRIS. So far as I know, he did not have a son named James. He did have a son Henry, who was born in 1792. A Henry Fry married Polly Smith 13 Jun 1804. I can't identify this Henry. He's too old to be the son of Henry/Heinrich above. A Henry Frey appears in the 1784, 1796 and 1798 Rowan County tax lists in the area that later became Davidson County. He is the only Henry Frey or Fry listed in Jo White Linn's compilation of the Rowan County tax records, and there is no James Fry or Frey listed at all.
