Hi Catherine, There are several forks in the Yadkin River but the major fork is just up river from where the Interstate 85 highway crosses the Yadkin River. Just down river from the I-85 crossing is the "Trading Ford" area. Up river from this area is where the South Yadkin and the North Yadkin run together. I have aerial photos of this junction and area online at http://www.dantana.com/RootsofRowan.html At this junction, Rowan, Davie & Davidson Counties come together. Up river on the North Yadkin is the "Boone's Cave" area and further is Winston-Salem area. Up river on the South Yadkin the Coolemee & Woodleaf area and further on is North Wilksboro area.
