    1. Schnepp/Snapp
    2. Is anyone researching Lorentz Schnepp (Lawrence Snapp) of Rowan Co., NC and his descendents? Lorentz and his brother Johannes (and his family) arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Samuel in 1733. By 1736 they were in the Opequon settlement in VA. Johannes remained in VA while Lorentz migrated to NC prior to 1750. He died in 1771 in Rowan Co., NC. He had these children: Johannes (John) b.1738 at Opequon. Not mentioned in his father's will, nothing else known. Lorentz (Lawrence) b. 1739/40 at Opequon. Mentioned in will. Elisabetha never married. Died 1778. Christianna m. Michael Holzhauser Catharina (Catharine) m. 24 June 1762 John George Reel (Riehl) Barbara m. Matthias Barringer Ann Margaret b. 1749 Rowan Co. m. 24 October 1762 Johannes (John) Samuel Rintleman Lorentz's neice (d/o Johannes and Barbara Dutt Schnepp), b. 15 May 1737 at Opequon, also migrated to NC. She married John Lewis Beard (Barth). He was witness to Lorentz Schnepp's will. Also he served as one of the executors to the will of Elisabetha Schnepp (d/o Lorentz). For some reason, in the History of St. John's Lutheran Church, she is identified as the sister of Lorentz of Rowan Co. While she did have a brother named Lorentz he remained in VA. I would like to hear from anyone who may have further information they could share on these family lines. Thanks, Charmaine
