I am a new list member who is looking for any information for the surname Spoolman prior to 1790 in N.C. There is a Fredrick Spoolman record for 1790 in the Rowan census list and in later year census records for Fredrick(sp) and descendants (Ephraim, George, et al). I found one early 1800s reference for William Spoolman who received a Revolutionary war land grant but no other references. There are Virginia records for 1782 and 1785 only for Fredrick and one much later reference to NC as birth state for him. Any information at all would be very helpful. Also, any information for Wear (?Weir, Wier, Wire, Weere, Wayer?) would be much appreciated.
