Hi I have a descendent born in Mocasin County NC in 1810. He is the grandson of Charles Hunter Jr. of Rowan County NC His father was John Hunter of Rowan County and his wife ? Deatherage His name is Braxton D. Hunter born June 30, 1810 Mocasin County NC I assume this is a now defunct county that was somewhere in the Cherokee neighborhood of NC Kentucky and Tennessee but I hope someone has more info and where to look for census info for this place.
