This may be of interest. A monument was erected honoring Valentine Leonhardt and Woolrich Fritz at the Pilgrim Reformed Church on July 4, 1896. Valentine and Woolrich were killed in 1781 by "a band of Tories". A more detailed account is presented in the Fritz (Fritts) Family Heritage. Woolrich is my gggg grandfather. On the stone at the head of Woolrich's grave is the following inscription: "Remember me as you pass by; As you are now, so once was I; And I am now, so must you be; Prepare therefore to follow me." -----Original Message----- From: Agnes B Yount <alby6@juno.com> To: ROWANROOTS-L@rootsweb.com <ROWANROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, December 07, 1999 2:45 PM Subject: Re: ELLER, BILES, LEMLY of Rowan Co., NC >Dear Belinda, > >I have no direct interest in these families.
