    3. To follow up on the posting by- JC Halbrooks <jcdha@attglobal.net> Let me put first what the 1973 US Census Compendium gives for early censuses and tax lists: (1) 1753-1888,1890-1892,1894-95 Tax lists NCDAH (2) 1758 Tax List JNCG 10:1383 (3) 1759, 1761, 1768, 1784, 1787, 1802-04, 1807, 1874-92 Tax list LDS FHL (4) 1759 Tax list JNCG 13:1883-90 (5) 1772 Petitioners CRONC 9:91-2 (6) 1773? Petitioners CRONC 9:624-5 (7) 1778 Petitioners JNCG 12:1681-2 (8) 1778 Tories JNCG 14:2239-44 NCDAH North Carolina Dept.. of Archives and Records Service JNCG Journal of North Carolina Genealogy Ed by William Perry Johnson, Raleigh LDS FHL- most seem to be in book form not available to the local FHCs CRONC Colonial Records of North Carolina, Collected and edited by William L. Saunders In the LDS North Carolina Research Guide is listed work given by Halbrooks: >[SU-812] NORTH CAROLINA TAXPAYERS 1701-1786 By Clarence E. Ratcliff. > >[SUP-522] NORTH CAROLINA TAXPAYERS 1679-1790 By Clarence E. Ratcliff. also the seven volumes Accelerated Indexing "Early American Series, North Carolina" with Ron V. Jackson given as the author listing early residents of North Carolina 1715-1831 arranged by counties. I expect at least a part of this in FamilyTreeMakers CD 310; Census Index : Colonial America 1607-1789. Neither of the these two books is available on film from the LDS Family History Library.
