There is a neat document for sale on eBay concerning Rowan County! This is the description of it: "1784 Rowan County NC Arrest Warrant, I can't make out much of the handwritten part, it is done in Old English Spelling, but I can make out "damages ten pounds". The doucument is on rag paper and filled out in brown ink. There are some varmint nibbles around the edges, but it is sound and suitable for framing. 6" x 8"." The scan of it is a little blurry, but I can make out the names: BENJAMIN HYDE, JAMES CARRIGAN and D.
