I am researching my ancestor, Carl (Charles) Seifert, who came to N. C. in 1777 from Berks County, PA. His wife's name was Mary Margaretha (maiden name unknown). He settled in Mecklenburg County(now Cabarrus County) and attended St. John's Lutheran Church. I have found that he had 3 children baptized at New Hanover Lutheran Church but I cannot find where my line (son, Michael, born in 1772) was baptized. I know that Charles had a daughter living with he and his wife in the 1790 census and their names are in the records at St. John's. The daughter's name was Rosina. I have in my possession, tax receipts for George Seifert, Phillip Seifert, Soloman Seifert, Charles Seifert. These receipts date back to the 1778-1845. Also, I have the original will of Charles Seifert's uncle, Gabriel Konig who died in 1767 and is buried at New Hanover Lutheran Church.
