I have exactly one entry for Rowan Co. Simon DRAKE was head of household on the 1830 census. I've not seen a copy of the 1820 yet to see if he was listed in Rowan or stayed in Wake Co., NC where he married Patience GREGORY in 1817. Simon and Patience Drake's 6 oldest children were born between 1819 and 1830, as shown by Rowan Co. federal census, and then one was born in 1833 in KY, then who knows? Patience was head of household on the 1840 Greene Co., IN federal census. She had some unidentified children with her. Jo Linn White could not identify my Simon Drake and said she wondered who he was when she saw him in the census. He was not listed in any Rowan Co. record other than the 1830 census. Shirley
