With all the mail about other non-existant counties, I decided to float this one. Please don't answer unless you know something definite. My wife's g-grandfather's death certificate said he was born in "Angelo County" North Carolina in 1850. Now I know there has not ever been an Angelo county, and we have searched high and low for something similar, including Angola swamp. My wife thinks he must have had a mouth full of chewing tobacco when he told his sons where he was born. If anyone knows of any place in N.C. with a name of Angelo, please let me know. By the way, his name was George Green. I cannot associate him with Rowan county specifically, but if anyone is researching the Green line an has a clue, let me hear from you. Thanks
