Billy, Thanks for the information. I am not the one who requested the information, but I am a Deadmond descendent. My information gives the birthdate of Hannah Dedmon's grandson, Jacob Wolf, as Dec. 26, 1794. Your information gave the date as 1791. Whenever Jacob Wolf was born, his mother, Polly, would have been extremely young, in fact, she would have been a child. 9 years old, or younger. We know that by the time Polly was 21, that she was married to a man name Procter. We think that Polly was probably not married to Jacob Wolf's father, whose name appears only as "Mr. Wolf". Maybe, because she was so very young, that the circumstances surrounding the birth of this child were rather unfortunate. In those days, children born out of wed lock would take the name of the father if he was know. Even today, that occurs. We would love to know more about Jacob Wolf's father. It does appear that Jacob eventually married a Nancy McEntire. We also know that his birth place was Rutherford County, North Carolina. Polly Dedmon and her family originated in Rowan County. Any information about "Mr Wolf" would be appreciated.
