What are you trying to do? Preserve the photo by laminating it or keeping the water based ink from running should it become wet? I would recommend the second if you want to mat and frame the image to display. I started using a photographic lacquer on film prints to protect the surface of the print from small scratches and fingerprints. It works just as well on inkjet prints and does protect the ink from running or smearing. You should be able to find this at moderate to larger camera stores especially if they also deal in darkroom equipment and supplies. I have also found it in some art supply stores. Scanning ahead I see questions about color retention of images. I asked a printer rep at one of the computer stores in town about inkjet color longevity and he explained that the ink generally does not show appreciable fading for approximately 20 yrs. Also some of the lacquers contain UV inhibitors slowing down the fading process some and come in glossy and matte finishes. I hope this might help some. Jim
