Sandy, I have a questions about your Abel Alfred Barger who married Sarah Alice Workman. I have been trying to locate an Alfred Barger who was born in NC, or that part of NC which is now TN in the late 1700's. The earliest information I have on him is that he moved from Knox Co., TN to Gibson Co. around 1830. He had been married twice, but I don't have the name of either wife. I know that I am grasping at straws, but I suspect he was one of the German Bargers of Rowan County. He, and several generations of his family lived near my own Bargers in TN who were descendants of George Henry Berger/Barger of Rowan County. If you or your brother-in-law could shed some light on this Abel Alfred Barger, I would be very grateful. Ray, One of the descendants of the Alfred Barger I am trying to track down in western TN married a Yount. I don't know if there is any connection, but I will take a look and see what I can find out about her.
