Lois, Polly Dedmon my 4xgreatgrandmother would be very proud that people are trying to solve the mystery of who the father of her son Jacob Wolf was. I do appreciate so much and I know there is an answer somewhere. I have Jacob Wolf as being born 11-1-1798 from cemetery of Beulah Methodist Church in Cleveland, which is different from pension app filed by Polly Dedmon's mother. Whatever age she was when she gave birth she couldn't have been more than 12 or 13. Does anyone know if there was any history of Indian attack on this family in Rowan County? The most sensible answer that is being debated, is a Jacob Wolf born the same year as she was in 1786 and that would be quite possible of two young kids getting intimate at age 12 or so.
