Desire data on RICKART ancestors. Leonard/Mary Shafer RICKART lived in Rowan County in mid-late 1700's. He was a Rev. soldier. They had at least three children I can find--possibly 3 more. They were Jacob (b)1786, Margaret (b) 1789 and John (b) cir. 1790. What source in Rowan Co.can provide validation of these dates and data on possibly three others in the family, names unknown. The family apparently moved to Virginia after 1800 and later on to Ohio. Also, where is a good source for history of Rowan County on the internet?
