P-6 has the following HANCOCK listing under heading of "Bk Records" : "Elizabeth & Johann HANCOCK b 8 Jul 1791, bapt 4 May 1794, parents & Spon = Wm HANCOCK & wf Margareta." This must be Margaret DETTRO CLEMMER HANCOCK, widow of Valentine "Felty" CLEMMER who d 1785 PA. This is data that I had not seen before. Our dateline for her now looks like: 1] 6 Feb 1787 Rowan Co, NC DB 12/51 has deed from James Andrews to Margaret CLEMARE for 35 pounds for 100 A on Bear Cr that was wit by [bro] Balzer DUTTRO, 2] 1787 Tax List of Rowan Co, NC listing Margrit GEMER next to Bolser TOBBROW, 3] 1 Mar 1792 Rowan Co, NC m for "William M. Hancock m Margaret Clemmer; Balser Dorthono, bondsman; Basil Gaither, wit." 4] 1792 Rowan Court action "Ludwig, orphan of Valentine CLEMMER, age 14 yrs 8 mos, bound until age 21 to Isaac Jones, to learn art of spinnings" 5] NEW 4 May 1794 Heidleberg Ch rec listing "4 May 1794 bapt of Elizabeth & Johann HANCOCK b 8 Jul 1791, parents & spon = Wm HANCOCK & wf Margareta". [This could be: a) his ch by unk prev wf who were bapt aft his 1792 m to Margaret; b) ch by Wm & Margaret b bef their 1792 m; or, ??? Keep in mind that some of us CLEMMER & DETTRO researchers have already credited Wm & Margaret with 2 or more ch, inc - Eliz b 1794 who m Jacob CLONINGER in 1810 Lincoln Co, NC, & an unmarried Molly b ca 1796. Could this be the same Eliz?? And who would be their mother?? And who is the Johann and what happened to him??]. 6] 29 Sep 1811 confirmation at Old Heidleberg Ch for David & Elizabeth DOTHERO. (ch of [bro] Balzer DOTHERO) 7] 23 Jun 1794 & 6 Nov 1795 Isaac Jones liens 100A against Wm BANCOCK recovered by Balso DOTROC at Sheriff's Sale. [Rowan Court of Pleas & Qtrs Bk 14/212] This is the same 100A above that Margaret CLEMARE pur 6 Feb 1787 from James Andrews with deed wit by Balzer DOTTRO and Basil Gaither. 8] Wm HANCOCK has never been heard from again?? and Margaret next shows up in Dallas area on 1800-1810 Gaston Co Rec next to her bro John DETTRO.
