In Brent Holcomb's "Marriages of Rowan County, North Carolina 1753-1868", p. 87 he has a marriage: "Coughenhoven, John & Mary Freese, 8 July 1794; William Smether, bondsman; J. Troy, D.C., wit." Does anyone know about this couple? Is the name Coughenhoven or Coughneour or Coughenhour? I would appreciate it if anyone knows anything about them if they would let me know.
