Hello Everyone, I'm sorry for using this forum for this question, but it may effect us all since viruses sometimes will arrive in the form of a file attachment through these genealogy mailing list. If you open a file attachment with a virus in it, your computer gets the virus. However, I can open my file concerning a certain message and ask for details on it's origin. When this happens, a window opens up and tells me the origin of the message and then it will show me what is inside the file attachment. Thus I can read the attachment without clicking it open on the e-mail. My question is this, if that attachment had a virsu in it, and I viewed it in my message origin file instead of opening it on the e-mail, can my computer still get the virus? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Lois Arthur in Indiana parish@smithville.net
