    2. I don't have anything on those families in particular, but I wanted to make just a few points in the hopes that that information will assist you. Yes, marriage bonds in the 1860's should have been issued only in the bride's county of residence. Remember that Cabarrus County was never part of Rowan, even Old Rowan County. The present-day boundary between the two counties is an old Rowan boundary. That being said, the Gold Hill community sits very close to the line. And part of Kannapolis is in Cabarrus County while part of Kannapolis is in Rowan County. I believe the Rhinelanders book is still available through the Cabarrus County Genealogical Society.
