October 9, 1787, State Grant #1517 @ 50 sh the 100 A to Joseph Whelley/Whealey, 300 A betw Buffalo Shoal Crk and "that on which Moses Nesbet lives: adj Samuel Hustin." 1790 Census Iredell Coounty NC; Whealey, Joseph Sr., Free white males 16 & up (1); under 16 (1); females in household (10) Do not have date of birth or death for Joseph Sr. nor either of his wifes. Am trying to fill in some of these blanks e.g., from whence did Joseph Sr. come before Rowan Co. NC, his dates of b. and d., especially name of first spouse - Joseph Sr. and spouse unknown are my 6g-grandparents. There are Joseph Whaley Jr. and Sr. from Kent County/Queen Anne's Maryland in 1700s, use of same family names for children- however is some confusion re: dates and logistics unless Joseph Whaleys continued with Jr. and Sr. as the generations passed on. MD Whaleys were connected to Comegys. Any information or a point in a direction would be greatly appreciated.
