Just posting again, since it's been awhile. I'm looking for information on WELKERS and FLETCHERS in Rowan county. Adam WELKER lived there, married about 1802 to Sarah FLETCHER. Their children were as follows: James Robert, b. 1803 Sarah Ann, b. 1805 Adam, b. 1806 Sarah, b. 1808 William, b. 1811 or 1812 Previous to Sarah, Adam, sr. was married to Nancy Fletcher, married 1793 in Surry county. The IGI has some connections to Germany for Adam, but the connection seems rather patchwork to me, and James Hook's book on Ellers (Georg Michael Eller and Descendants of His in America) doesn't seem to support the theories in the IGI. As far as I can tell, Adam and Sarah just crawled out from under some rocks in NC one day, and there they were. Any info or suggestions are welcome. Rose Green
