I don't know how many of you worked with Sandra Ball, but she died recently. Here is her obituary. I know she helped me with my Walton Research several times. Mrs. Sandra Ball SALISBURY - Sandra Gertsch Ball, 64, of 908 Yost Rd., died Thursday, August 21, 2003, at her home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will follow at the church cemetery in North Wilkesboro. The Bishop John Coalson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Salisbury. At other times they will be at the residence on Yost Road. Born December 10, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah, she was the daughter of the late Lavoun Eggett Gertsch and Julius Alma Gertsch. She was a graduate of East High School in Salt Lake and the New York Institute of Photography. She was a professional photographer, member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Sunday school teacher, youth seminary teacher and family history specialist. She was a full-time missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in North Carolina. She was an active member of Rowan County Genealogical Assoc. and worked as a volunteer in the Rowan County library in genealogical research. Survivors include her husband, Charles Willis Ball; a son, James Alma Ball of Salt Lake City, Utah; three daughters, Cynthia Simpson of China Grove, Catherine Gilbert of China Grove and Christine Ball of the home; two brothers, Jerrold Gertsch of Jordan, Utah, and Don Lee Gertsch of Kearns, Utah; a sister, Renee G. Evans of West Valley, Utah; and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Missionary Fund at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1255 Julian Road, Salisbury, N.C. 28146.
