Not all of the residents of Lancaster were of Germanic origin. I have worked on a family from Scotland who were in Lancaster, so it is not a foregone conclusion or assumption just because they were from Lancaster. My Wiseman family has a name that could be Germanic (as in Weseman or Weissman), but it's possibly not. The Wisemans were from Berks which had a strong Germanic population later.I still don't know. That's just one opinion, and not necessarily because I'm "a good researcher". Just another seeker! Lolene
