Can anyone please tell me on which side, east or west, of I-85 the old Smith Cemetery is located in Rowan County? I was told that it is located near mile marker 80 off of I-85 and we went out there yesterday to find it, but I was not sure which side of I-85 that the cemetery is on. We were unable to search around in the areas on either side because the ground was much too wet and muddy from all of the recent rain in the area. I would also like to know if there is some other way that you can get to the cemetery besides pulling off on the side of the expressway or driving down the dead end roads on either side to get to the cemetery?
