Hello C. L. Gibson, I have an ancestor named James Gibson who married Rebecca Robinson in Rowan County in 1787. After they were married they moved to Tennessee where they lived for some time, eventually ending up in Morgan County Illinois in 1830. My Gibsons were probably Primitive Baptists. I don't think they were Presbyterian. I suppose there were several James Gibsons from Rowan who went to Tennessee. I'm curious how you came up with your William Gibson Sr. family. You don't say what your sources are.
