It focuses on the early beginnings of NC settlement, and is well illustrated with maps. And - so important to us genealogists - it mentions many, many families and individuals who were early settlers. You should be able to order it through the UNC Press or Willow Bend Books (you can Google those easily). Perhaps your local library or history room has a copy on the shelf. Happy hunting!
