    3. Wow! What a great group and what great questions you have responded with. Thank you all. Here's some responses: 1. The Gibson family I am researching lived on Irish Buffalo Creek near Cabarrus County. They are identified on the Kluttz map, sheet 4, D3-D4. 2. One important source on the Gibson family is "The Recollections of John A. Gibson." This gives some information on the family but mostly follows Joseph and Hanna Mary McCree. I am developing a database of information on every Gibson reference citation for Rowan County that I have found yet, listed in chronological order. A copy is now with the Rowan Co. Gen. Soc. However, my only sources thus far have been marriage records and the Linn and Kluttz books. I think I need to go farther with them. 3. After studying the 1790 census, I believe the James Gibson/Rebecca Robinson family is on the 1790 census of Iredell County, which had been part of Rowan County. Barton Dyson was bondsman for James and Rebecca and he is also on page 390 in Iredell Co. The James in Rowan County has too many children to be James and Rebecca but the one in Iredell has one son, which fits the known data. Some say this James is the son of John Gibson and Margaret Fludd of SC? They say that Francis Gibson was a sister of this James, and she married John Meredith. 4. Thank you Elaine for the information on Judge Francis Lock's will. I have a copy and the only thing that's clear to my mind is the children of George Gibson. By the way, there is a Francis Gibson and a Francis Locke Gibson. I need to study this more and then I'll write you again. I did not have the deeds you gave or the family information on John Gibson, so thank you very much. Many thanks to all, Carole
