    1. Identify this "Subject" block by Surname?
    2. It would be so helpful, if everyone would identify in the "Subject" block above the Surname(s) of those for whom they are searching. Would save a good amount of time reading each "Role Call" etc. to find out who the subject is. Most of the time it is no one for whom I can help. Many thanks. Richard

    2. Richard Lentz
    3. Cathy Lutes, The only information I have on this family I gathered from "Lentz Heritage". I certainly would appreciate any help you can give. I have George Ludwig and William Sr. Sifford as brothers. George had Abraham who md. Margaret Lentz (I have this family group sheet). They had Sophia who md. Peter Peeler. William Jr. md. Elizabeth Lentz. Both Lentz girls were daughters of Bastian Lentz. On another note, legend in my family in southern Illinois, was an "old man Lutz" who lived on Elko Road had a diary he kept when his ancester and mine (Dewalt ? Lentz) made the trip from Germany to the Americas. I talked to every Lutz descendent in Elko, Ill in 1994, but no one knows. They also didn't know much about their ancestry. Maybe you have heard of such a diary? Thanks Cathy. Richard. 2. Peggy Crane
    3. -----Original Message----- From: Peggy Crane <pcrane@regalmfgcoinc.com> To: JEAorMHA@aol.com <JEAorMHA@aol.com> Date: Monday, November 01, 1999 3:38 PM Subject: Early Locks/Lockes of PA and Rowan Co NC I was interested in your informative information on this subject surname from these two areas. I don't have any Locks in my ancestry that I am aware of yet, but I do have family connections to the name. As you are aware, I'm sure, there are many references to this name in Rowan County and even a Locke Township. My great-great grandfather was Giles Rary (Rarey) who married Lucinda Rice in Rowan County and they lived out their lives there. One of their children was Doc Rary who married Frances Wyoming Myers. They named one of their sons, Cletus Locke Rary and I have always been curious about the person he was named for. In any of your information, do you find any references to Rary/Rarey or any variation of the name? Early ancestors came from Germany thru PA and the name was spelled Roerig and Roehrig. You referenced "Lookin' for Lockes", Nov 94.......is this a book? If so, is it available for purchase and from whom? Thank you, Peggy Rary Crane Caldwell County NC

    1. ROLL CALL
    2. Bert Simerson
    3. Sometimes just one little clue helps. So here goes: back in the late 1940s and possibly into the 1960s I knew a "Mickey" Sprouse in New Jersey. I worked at the du Pont plant in Deepwater, NJ (Salem County), as did Mickey. He also sang in a barbershop quartet as I did. I don't remember exactly where he lived, but it was relatively nearby to the du Pont plant. Maybe even Carney's Point, Deepwater or Penn'sGrove, adjoining towns. (I just remembered: his first wife's name was Peg and they had one daughter. She died and he later remarried.) Happy hunting Bert Simerson
