    3. Hi! Can anyone help me in finding the right Frederick Miller? I am looking for a Frederick Miller that was the father of a William Miller. Frederick Miller came from Rowan Co., NC. He later moved his family to Washington Co., IN. He had already brought some family from NC but when he went back to bring more family with him, he was supposedly killed by Indians. The location in which he was supposed to have been killed was in KY. I have found several Frederick Millers but only one have I found that had a son named William. William Miller moved with his father to Washington Co., IN and had a son by the name of David Miller b. 1844? m. ? to a Catherine Taylor they had a son named Calvin Miller b.1873 married Ada Slagley. I want to know more about Frederick and William Miller. I would love to know who Frederick Miller's parents were too. If there is anyone out there that thinks they can help please e-mail me. 3. You are right about the headache. I did notice a "Fecher or a Techer" b. 1832, and I wonder if that could be "Fletcher." My Julia Ann REED (b. around 1823-25 NC) married Abner PACE in Guilford Co., NC, in 1843. Their only child was JOHN FLETCHER PACE (1844-1901Rowan Co., NC). I speculate that the name John came from the Pace side but have been unable to determine the origin of the middle name FLETCHER, and have wondered if it came from his maternal side. There was some Reed/Reid tie to William Emory C. Reid/ married to Sue Bevings/Bevins in Rowan Co., NC around 1856 as Abner Pace was bondsman for this couple. The parents of W. E. C. Reid (groom) were said to be Nathan and Mary (Cottrell) Reid, married in Guilford Co., NC, in 1833. I have been unable to establish the exact tie to my Julia Ann Reed, nor to find her parents' names. 3. This may be of interest. A monument was erected honoring Valentine Leonhardt and Woolrich Fritz at the Pilgrim Reformed Church on July 4, 1896. Valentine and Woolrich were killed in 1781 by "a band of Tories". A more detailed account is presented in the Fritz (Fritts) Family Heritage. Woolrich is my gggg grandfather. On the stone at the head of Woolrich's grave is the following inscription: "Remember me as you pass by; As you are now, so once was I; And I am now, so must you be; Prepare therefore to follow me." -----Original Message----- From: Agnes B Yount <alby6@juno.com> To: ROWANROOTS-L@rootsweb.com <ROWANROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, December 07, 1999 2:45 PM Subject: Re: ELLER, BILES, LEMLY of Rowan Co., NC >Dear Belinda, > >I have no direct interest in these families. 2. David & Belinda Rodgers
    3. Researching the LEMLY family that originated in Rowan Co., NC, with George LEMLY & wife, Catherina. In tracing some of their descendants, have found these items that I need assistance with from other researchers: 1) Catherine LEMLY m. Christian ELLER, 18 Apr 1810 in Rowan Co., NC Anyone know which family this Catherine LEMLY came from or have any info on this Christian ELLER? Joseph LEMLY had a daughter, Catherine, but I have no dates on her to prove or disprove whether this could be her. 2) Catherine LEMLY m. Charles BILES, 15 Feb 1816 in Rowan Co., NC Family this Catherine is from? Is this one Joseph's daughter? Info on this Charles Biles? 3) Have been told that Joseph LEMLY's widow, Margaret [maiden name not known], may have married John ELLER, Sr., in 1808, Rowan Co., after Joseph died in 1804. Can anyone tell me if this is fact or fiction? In what research I have done thus far, the ELLER family is a large one and intermingles with many Rowan Co. lines, as well as naming many generations the same. If there are any ELLER, BILES, or LEMLY researchers who can shed some light on my LEMLY search and how it applies to ELLER & BILES, I will be most appreciative. The BILES name I have no data on at present other than this marriage info. Thanks in advance. Belinda O. Rodgers Researching LEMLY, WARFFORD, OWEN from early Rowan Co., NC

    3. Dear Belinda, I have no direct interest in these families. However, in searching for the European origins of my ancestor, Conrad Yoder, who emigrated from PA to the current Catawba, NC area in the mid 1750s, I have been trying to check out the origins of other passengers on the ship Neptune on which he arrived at Philadelphia on Oct 25, 1746. On the above passenger list was a Henry Eller. Also of interest is that Valentine Leonhardt was on the same ship. Then, in the 1790 NC census, there is a George Eller listed near a Valentine Leonhardt (the son of the immigrant). Valentine Leonhardt lived in what is now Davidson County, and was associated with Pilgrim Reformed Church there.
