PHILLIP SECHRIST born about 1790 in Rowan county NC and died about 1863 in Morgan county IN., married MARY"POLLY" SULLIVAN 6-10-1815 in Rowan county NC.Mary Sullivan was born 1797 and died before 1874. The couple migrated to Morgan county IN about 1840 and they had the following children: 1.CALVIN born 2-21-1822 died 1-28-1881, Calvin married NANCY KATHRYN VARNER 8-14-1842 in Davidson county NC 2. DAVID born 1824 3. WILLIAM ALEXANDER born about 1830 married FRANKY WARTHEN 8-26-1850 in Morgan county IN 4.LINDSAY born about 1832 5. ELENDER born about 1835 6. CORKUS PARKER born 1839 died 8-25-1863 in Nashville TN (CW) 7. PLEASANT born 1840 died 1863 Morgan county IN due to CW wounds 8.ANDREW 9. JESSE 10.ELIZABETH Of these last three I know nothing. PHILLIP SECHRIST changed the spelling of the last name to SECREST sometime around 1850. I have had many answer all saying that none of the Sechrist/Secrest in the Rowan county area in the 1790 census were the father of Phillip.I know he had to have a set of parents. Also Mary Sullivan had some. I would like to have any info regarding this line, any help would be most appreciated. Debra Carter tara37@comsys.net http:www.genexchange.com/in/index.cfm

Hi Ray! I saw someone's request for Communion Look-ups and I would appreciate any information you might find on German speaking Lutherans who may have moved up from St. John's Lutheran Cabarrus and/or Crooked Creek who had surnames of Cramm/Crump/Krumm/Krump. Their father Conrad Cramm is listed in Baptismal Records at Crooked Creek and he and (Mary) Motlency Lashler Hess daughter of Philip Lashler/Leishler who was a PA German Lutheran were married by Pastor Nussmann of St. John's Cabarrus before he died abt 1796. I've reason to believe that his son operated Crump Ferry near Daniel Boone Cave in the Pine Church vicinity. I also know that Conrad had his family disperse widely after 1800. G. Norman Crump at acrump@shentel.net
Searching for a Joseph K. Groves mid to late 1700"s
Ray, If you have the time could you see what given names you have on the communion list for the Eller surname. I would be very thankful for any help. Eve Eller was my 4th great-grandmother, and appears to have been confirmed in 1796 at the Peint Church. Her hubby to be was David Crotser/Crotzer. It looks like your list may be to early for Eve. I think she was born 1785-1790. Thanks a million for any help and even for just trying. sherry
I am researching Lucy Deadman b. 1824 in IL. She m. Hadden Elms in Independence Co., AR, and d. 1888. She is also said to be from KY, but I have no more information about her past. The name Thurman/Thurmond/Tillman has also been seen attached after Deadman as a surname. Any help on our mysterious Lucy greatly appreciated. Linda Wilson
