I am researching my maternal grandmother's line. Her father was Henry August Roth, born March 23, 1889, and died February 2, 1952, in Orange Grove, Jim Wells County, Texas. Henry married Annie Augusta Carolina Frerichs on November 4, 1913, in Burlington, Milam County, Texas where my grandmother, Edna Carolina Roth was born the following year. Henry Roth's death certificate states that he was the son of John Roth and Anna Cubala Roth. John was born c. a 1844 in Swiss/Germany according to the 1900 census. Anna was born on a ship coming over from Austria in 1852. I do not have any information on when or where John Roth died. Children of John and Anna Roth are: Edmund (Edd) Roth, born c.a. 1888 Henry August Roth, born March 23, 1889 Mary Roth John Roth My grandmother told me that Mary Roth married a man by the name of Monroe. They had a son, Lorenz Monroe who was born c.a. 1904 and who was killed by lightening while on horseback rounding up cattle in a storm in 1919. All of these families are from Texas, but I do not have places where they lived. They were sharecroppers who moved around quite a bit.
